Nomination of the two winners of the Arnaud Roujou de Boubée 2024 Award!

Congratulations to our two 2023/24 Fulbrighters: Gloria Mogango (French grantee - Student program) & Giselle Hobbs (American grantee - Advanced Student program) who have been awarded the Prix Arnaud Roujou de Boubée 2024!

Gloria is currently in the USA as part of her Fulbright project: "The notion of 'third culture' within the African diaspora in NYC." (Université Paris Nanterre / Columbia University). She explains: "Since my youngest childhood, I have been immersed in orality passed on by my parents through songs, tales and myths: I've understood its essential role in shaping my ideas and my identity. Convinced of its value, I am committed to valuing and promoting oral history, particularly through my Master's project aimed at exploring its impact in cultural transmission, particularly in Africa, and re-establishing its legitimacy within our contemporary societies."

Giselle is currently in France as part of her Fulbright project: "The Aftermath of the Lockdown: Comparative Study of Paris, France and the US." (Cornell University / Beaux-Arts de Paris). She creates large-scale illusionist paintings that probe the relationship between humans and the natural environment while considering a range of cosmologies from different periods and geographical locations. Giselle has won numerous other awards and exhibited both nationally and internationally!

Created in 2021 in honor of the Commission's former Director, Mr. Arnaud Roujou de Boubée (2001-2021), this Prize rewards the outstanding work of a French and an American student from the current class and enables them to extend their stays by 2 months.
